HVAC Development Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC Development Engineer to join our team at PCR Staffing. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for the development of refrigeration systems for new products in our Residential Packaged Product portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Complete New Product Development (NPD), quality improvement, sustaining, and cost reduction projects to meet project quality, delivery, and cost (QDC) targets.
  • Lead Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA's) and Internal Design Reviews (IDR's) for assigned projects.
  • Perform performance simulations and direct the testing of required engineering samples for evaluation and validation.
  • Direct the creation or revision of engineering product documentation (drawings, specifications, bills of materials, safety agency approvals).
  • Design for reliability (DFR) and design for manufacturing, assembly, and ergonomics (DFMAE).
  • Perform engineering analysis and design using analytical tools such as CREO (PRO-E) and other analysis software.
  • Complete required product agency compliance and listings (AHRI, UL, etc.).
  • Select and specify component and material requirements and create engineering data/unit attributes.
  • Drive continuous improvement in reducing Engineering product development cycle time.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering required.
  • Minimum of 10 years HVAC refrigeration system design and development required (≥7 years for internal candidates).
  • Domestic and international travel required (up to 15%).
  • Refrigeration system design experience.
  • Problem assessment and problem-solving skills.
  • Project planning and organizational skills.
  • Result-oriented individual with an emphasis placed on achieving overall team performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to complete assignments on time.
  • Experience with PC-based Windows programs (Excel, Word, Access, etc.).
  • Experience with mechanical and/or electrical application equipment design.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Must have good conflict management skills and demonstrate versatility in personal interaction.
  • Energy and desire to drive continuous improvement projects.
  • Experience with HVAC, refrigeration systems, or components.
  • Permanent US work status (US Citizen or US Green Card).
Nice to Have:
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt/Lean Expert (preferred).

This is a full-time role that is Hybrid in our Tyler Texas office (3 days onsite). The salary is $115,000 - $135,000 plus benefits/bonus. Full relocation package available.
