Position Overview:
Bank of Marin, recognized for its exceptional workplace culture, is looking for a dedicated Financial Reporting Analyst. This role is pivotal in supporting all facets of SEC and regulatory reporting. The analyst will be responsible for the preparation and review of essential SEC filings, ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, SEC regulations, and the institution's internal policies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and review quarterly financial disclosures for stakeholders, including SEC filings such as 10-Q, 10-K, and 8-K, along with other regulatory documents.
  • Stay informed on emerging GAAP standards and SEC regulations, providing insights and recommendations for compliance.
  • Oversee loan accounting practices to ensure adherence to GAAP, particularly regarding CECL processes.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of tax provisions and financial disclosures, contributing to the development of accounting staff.
  • Implement and refine policies to enhance financial reporting procedures, ensuring robust internal controls in line with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
  • Act as a liaison with auditors and external consultants, facilitating effective communication and compliance.
  • Engage in special projects as assigned, contributing to the overall efficiency of the financial reporting function.
Qualifications:
  • Comprehensive understanding of GAAP.
  • CPA designation is preferred.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and financial management capabilities.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging with all levels of management.
  • In-depth knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley regulations and compliance procedures.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and relevant accounting software.
Experience Requirements:
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in public accounting or the banking sector.
