Job Overview

Position Type: Direct Hire

Travel: Up to 10% domestic travel may be necessary.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design Engineering: Develop control systems for electric motors utilized in overhead cranes and hoists.
  • Technical Application: Implement specifications for Magnetic Motor Starters, Relays, and AC inverters.
  • Development Support: Provide assistance throughout various stages of product development engineering.
  • Electrical Calculations: Determine wire sizes and overload protection for systems operating at 800V DC and 4160V AC.
  • Issue Resolution: Collaborate with engineers and technicians to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing challenges.
  • Documentation: Create single-line diagrams, panel layouts, and interconnect schematics.
  • Component Management: Size and specify components and BOMs in accordance with industry standards and vendor data.
  • Design Optimization: Suggest enhancements to designs aimed at improving functionality or reducing costs.
  • Circuit Enhancements: Revise and improve existing circuit designs as required.
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work alongside mechanical engineering and manufacturing teams for control system design.
  • Field Engagement: Occasionally travel to sites for meetings or to troubleshoot control systems.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Proven experience as an Electrical Engineer.
  • Experience in Electrical Design is essential.
  • Hands-on experience with Motor Controls is required.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD 2016 or Zuken E3 is preferred.
  • Experience in PLC & HMI Programming.
  • Knowledge of NEC Electrical Code.
  • Experience with Rockwell, Siemens, or Danfoss PLC/VFD programming is advantageous.
Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Possession of a Bachelor's Degree is highly preferred.
  • 3-7 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in Electrical Engineering and Design.
  • Proficiency in Motor Controls.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD Electrical 2016 is preferred (other electrical CAD experience will be considered).
  • Experience in PLC Programming.
  • Knowledge of NEC Electrical Code.
  • Familiarity with Zuken E3 is a plus.
  • Experience with PLC and HMI programming for Rockwell, Siemens, or Danfoss PLC/VFD is a plus.
