We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Ambulatory Behavioral Health team. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our team of healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and room patients for exams, obtaining vital signs and documenting pertinent health information.
- Perform laboratory procedures, including strep tests, wound cultures, and specimen collection, using principles of aseptic technique and standard precautions.
- Assist physicians/providers with procedures and surgeries, such as pelvic exams, allergy scratch testing, and EMG.
- Administer medications, under physician/provider orders, including immunizations, antibiotics, pain medications, and insulin.
- Provide basic patient education on tasks, skills, treatment, and self-care.
- Communicate with physicians and other healthcare team members, documenting and communicating accurate and timely information regarding patient conditions.
- Perform advanced clinical tasks, such as removal of sutures and staples, catheterization, and EKG, with demonstrated competency and under clinical supervision.
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license issued by the state in which the team member practices.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 45 days.
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in Practical Nursing.
- No experience required.
This position requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, crawl, kneel, climb, and reach above shoulders throughout the workday. The team member must be able to lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist, lift up to 20 lbs over the head, and carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance.
The team member will be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, blood, and body fluids on a frequent basis and will be required to wear protective clothing and equipment as needed.
The team member must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with the ability to use fine-hand manipulation skills.
