Job Summary:

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team. As a LPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepares and rooms patients for exams by obtaining vital signs and documenting pertinent health information.
Performs laboratory procedures using principles of aseptic technique and standard precautions/infection control guidelines.
Assists physicians/providers with procedures and surgeries, including pelvic exams, allergy scratch testing, EMG, cautery, colposcopy, etc.
Administers medications under physician/provider orders, including immunizations, antibiotics, pain medications, vitamins, topical agents, and insulin.
Provides basic patient education on tasks, skills, treatment, and self-care. Follows through with necessary procedure or test requests, prescription refills, new appointment times, and referrals to other facilities or services.
Communicates with physicians and other members of the healthcare team, documenting and communicating accurate and timely information regarding patient conditions.

Requirements:

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license issued by the state in which the team member practices.
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 45 days.
Completion of an accredited or approved program in Practical Nursing.
No experience required.
