Job Summary:

Amentum is seeking a highly skilled Legal Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our litigation support team, you will work closely with Assistant United States Attorneys (AUSAs), federal law enforcement officers, and support staff to prepare cases for litigation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Obtain records, documents, and evidence from federal law enforcement agencies and via the legal process.
  • Review case materials to become familiar with the facts and circumstances of the case.
  • Examine, prepare, and process legal documents, including voluminous and complex materials.
  • Maintain and organize case materials using software, including databases, spreadsheets, and word processing applications.
  • Work with litigation support to resolve issues related to the intake and dissemination of discovery.
  • Assist AUSAs in producing discovery to defense counsel.
  • Organize and coordinate discovery distribution, including indexes and production logs.
  • Operate electronic systems and court presentation software during court proceedings.
  • Provide assistance to AUSAs in trial preparation by compiling trial notebooks, preparing jury instructions, and drafting witness and exhibit lists.

Requirements:

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain MRPT facility credentials/authorization.
  • US Citizenship is required for MRPT facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
  • Paralegal Certificate (one year of legal training/experience or at least two years of college education may be substituted for the paralegal certificate).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge and hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, databases, and spreadsheets.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic familiarity with ESI tools and knowledge of e-discovery procedures and resources.
