Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop mechanical and electro-mechanical systems and components using solid modeling CAD tools.
  • Create detailed drawings of parts and assemblies using CAD tools.
  • Calculate and layout dimensions, angles, curvature of parts, materials to be used, and relationship of various parts to the entire structure.
  • Responsible for assuring mechanical development is created per schedule and per cost objectives.
  • Generate BOMs and ECOs.
  • Involved with a project/product in its infancy and support the development of products into production-ready capacity.
  • Prototype manufacture and evaluation, including DFM, DFMEA, and product testing.
  • Participate with other team members and groups in generating and executing designs, project plans, estimates, and schedules.
  • Interact with internal and outside suppliers to procure, deliver, and implement parts and designs.
  • Troubleshoot and find corrective actions for \"in the field\" products that may experience failures.
  • Ensure design compliance with industry and company standards.

Compensation: $48/hr to $58/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • ~ 10 years of experience in electro-mechanical design.
  • Experience with designing/developing plastic, sheet metal, stamped, and machined parts and assemblies.
  • Experience in design applications requiring environmental sealing, EMI sealing, thermal dissipation, and vibration loads.
  • Proficient with Creo (Pro/Engineering).

Must be able to:

  • Perform mechanical and electro-mechanical system and component design utilizing solid modeling CAD tools.
  • Create detailed drawings of parts and assemblies utilizing CAD tools.
  • Be involved with a project/product in its infancy and support the development of products into production-ready capacity.
