The Progress Center Inc. is a dedicated non-profit organization located in Western Maine, committed to providing essential services to individuals, children, and families facing disabilities. We are actively seeking passionate individuals to join our expanding Children's Services Team as Behavioral Health Professionals (BHP). In this role, you will deliver in-home support to children with intellectual disabilities in both their home and community environments. We are currently looking for several part-time BHPs in the Oxford, ME area and its surroundings. These roles require availability during afternoons, evenings, and weekends.

While prior experience as a BHP is advantageous, it is not mandatory. The Progress Center offers paid initial and ongoing training to support your professional development. Whether you are ready to begin a new journey or wish to advance your career with us, we are eager to connect with you.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver direct support services to children and their families in home and community settings, focusing on Social Functioning, Behavioral Functioning, Functional Life Skills, and Independent Life Skills. Adhere to individual treatment plans and accurately document services rendered to the child and family within established agency policy timeframes.
  2. Participate in team meetings with other professionals involved with the child and family.
  3. Actively contribute as a member of the treatment team.
  4. Engage in scheduled staff meetings.
  5. Comply with all federal, state, and local regulations regarding the rights of children in need of treatment and mandatory reporting.
  6. Meet all training and supervision requirements.

General Expectations:

  1. Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations related to services for individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities or autism, including the rights of recipients and mandatory reporting.
  2. Demonstrate respect and enhance the lives of those we support.
  3. Contribute as a collaborative member of the team.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license, maintain a clean driving record, and have reliable transportation (with up-to-date inspection, registration, and insurance compliant with Maine state requirements) available for work-related duties.
  • Current BHP Certification or the ability to obtain one within one year of employment - PAID & PROVIDED.
