Job Description

As a Lead System Technologist for Federal DoD, you will be responsible for directing self and other assigned project STs, mentoring less experienced STs, and providing technical support on specialized telecommunications systems and public safety product applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Post-sale implementation of voice and data communications systems
  • Perform specific system configuration, programming, optimization, testing, and documentation tasks
  • Provide technical support of specialized systems and product applications, including advanced troubleshooting of software-driven electronics, provisioning of communication system infrastructure, and performance optimization of RF and Broadband architecture
  • Maintain, optimize, test, support, and document complex mission-critical communications systems
  • Perform preventative maintenance routines to ensure proper system operation with a focus on trend analysis and documentation of results
  • Provide weekly reports of activities and accomplishments
  • Develop solutions to difficult technical problems encountered as part of system maintenance, upgrades, or support issues
  • Total familiarity and continuous training in the latest technologies and troubleshooting techniques
  • Team with Engineering, Project Management, and Sales personnel to effectively maintain, optimize, and support advanced communication systems that meet or exceed customer expectations
Requirements:
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain necessary security clearance as required by government contract
  • Must possess a current and valid driver's license, no traffic violations, and have a clean driving record
  • 2-year Associate's degree in Electronics or IT preferred
  • Unique combinations of both multi-site RF communications systems and/or computer/networking skills are preferred
  • Must be willing to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance
  • Must be willing to obtain a DHS Public Trust Clearance
  • CompTIA Security+ or must be able to obtain it within the 1st year of employment
  • Ideally, the individual should have or be pursuing at least one network certification: Network+, CompTIA, Security+
Travel/Location:

Federal DoD System Technologist can live anywhere in the United States within a commutable distance to a major airport. Extensive work travel is required with up to 85% travel. Willing to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and varying schedules.
