Key Responsibilities:
- Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of buildings and facilities. Engages in heavy cleaning tasks, including floor maintenance, carpet shampooing, wall washing, and waste removal.
- Informs management about the necessity for minor or major repairs or enhancements to building systems.
- Establishes and nurtures effective communication and collaborative relationships with clients, colleagues, supervisors, and management.
- Adheres to all safety, security, compliance, and quality standards set by the Company, Clients, and regulatory bodies.
- Must be adaptable and willing to undertake all assigned tasks.
Essential Duties:
- Performs floor cleaning by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
- Follows protocols for using chemical cleaners and equipment to prevent damage to surfaces.
- Utilizes ladders to dust and clean furniture, walls, machines, and equipment; cleans ceilings and polishes light fixtures.
- Washes and replaces window coverings.
- Moves furniture and equipment to facilitate cleaning, either manually or with hand trucks.
- Removes stains from various surfaces using appropriate cleaning solutions. May also engage in seasonal tasks such as snow removal or lawn care.
- Prepares cleaning solutions by mixing water with detergents or acids according to specifications.
- Strips, seals, finishes, and polishes floors.
- Cleans and vacuums carpeted areas, including spot cleaning treatments.
- Collects and disposes of trash.
- Cleans and sanitizes surfaces in food areas.
- Polishes furniture and fixtures.
- Maintains cleanliness in restrooms.
- Periodically cleans overhead vents and dusts blinds.
- Washes interior glass, windows, and mirrors using appropriate cleaning agents.
- Applies insecticides and fumigants to deter pests.
- Sets up and removes decorations and equipment for events.
- Maintains an organized janitor's closet and ensures equipment is in good condition.
- Requests supplies and equipment necessary for cleaning tasks.
- Monitors building security by locking doors after hours and checking for potential hazards.
- May drive vehicles as needed for cleaning tasks.
- May be expected to perform basic repairs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must meet all requirements for working in specific environments, including a ten-year work history if available.
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in customer service.
- One year of related work experience.
