Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Substance Use Dependency Professional Trainee to join our team at Lifeline Connections. As a crisis intervention specialist, you will provide counseling and case management services to individuals experiencing co-occurring acute behavioral health crises.

Estimated Salary: $23,150 - $27,440 per year

About the Role

In this role, you will work under the supervision of the Program Director, providing specialized crisis intervention and short-term intervention services to adults and older adults. You will be responsible for assessing individuals for substance use disorders, conducting alcohol/drug assessments, and developing individualized treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a welcoming environment for new participants
  • Provide basic recovery support services and document services provided using recovery-focused language
  • Evaluate individuals for substance use disorders and recommend appropriate services
  • Conduct alcohol/drug assessments pursuant to WAC 246-341
  • Assess psycho-social functioning and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Work with individuals to meet goals on individual service plans
  • Act as an advocate for the needs and rights of every person
  • Work as part of a treatment team
  • Provide referrals and resources to individuals and support systems
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Washington State Department of Health SUDP or SUDPT certification
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification, or ability to obtain within 90 days
  • Knowledge of therapeutic approaches and ability to set and maintain therapeutic limits
  • Ability to function autonomously while maintaining continuous communication with other staff members
  • Broad knowledge of human personality development and cultural factors affecting individuals and families
  • Knowledge of substance use disorders, socio-cultural barriers to change, and alternative coping mechanisms
  • Strong understanding of recovery and resilience, partnerships, and individual choice
  • Interest or experience working with individuals who are difficult to engage
