Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled WIC Community Coordinator to join our team at Community Health Program Inc. As a key member of our staff, you will act as the administrative officer of our WIC program, developing and maintaining relationships with local health and human service providers, advocacy organizations, and community groups. Your primary responsibility will be to facilitate referrals between eligible populations and our WIC program, ensuring seamless access to essential services.
Main Responsibilities
Key duties and responsibilities include:
- Developing and maintaining a comprehensive listing of community contacts, initiating contact, and fostering working relationships with local health and human service providers, advocacy organizations, and other groups that use or may use WIC information.
- Maintaining the Massachusetts WIC Community Network Database, recording community contacts made and outreach activities conducted within our service area.
- Facilitating or conducting periodic in-services for staff and/or clients at local health and human service providers and other community agencies serving the WIC population, including Head Start, nursery or day care, grade schools, churches, EFNEP, neighborhood associations, Housing Authority, pediatricians, obstetricians, and other healthcare providers.
- Collaborating with Management Staff to develop, implement, and submit the annual outreach plan and progress report, as required.
- Attending Community Coordinators' Quarterly Meetings, new Community Coordinator Training, and In-services.
- Providing WIC program education and outreach materials to local agencies and advocacy groups.
- Representing WIC on committees or state public health initiatives and other community activities, in coordination with the Program Director.
- Representing WIC at community health fairs, workshops, and other public forums.
