Job Summary

The Manufacturing Maintenance & Repair Technician will perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs to machines and equipment. This role requires the ability to disassemble, repair, and reassemble machinery and manufacturing equipment with minimal instruction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and repair electro-mechanical machine failures by disassembling and inspecting components.
  • Utilize technical documentation to aid in troubleshooting.
  • Determine the root cause of failure and correct the condition to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Review previous failure modes to aid in discovering the root cause.
  • Repair failures by examining alternative methods of repair or application.
  • Follow up on repairs with observation and monitoring of equipment after it is in service to confirm successful repairs.
  • Manage all phases of repair projects from origination to completion.
  • Develop, document, and perform predictive and preventive maintenance to maximize time between failures.
  • Perform checks and mechanical clearances as necessary to ensure proper operation.
  • Research, develop, and document critical spare parts for equipment.
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Write routine reports and correspondence, and effectively communicate issues to engineers and management.
  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Work well under pressure and to remain flexible to changing demands.
Requirements
  • A High School Diploma or Vocational High School Diploma focused on equipment repair with practical experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role.
  • The ability to work independently and learn quickly.
  • The proven ability to recognize issues and recommend cost-effective solutions to management.
Specialized Skills
  • The discipline to execute tasks without procrastination.
  • Good time management to work at a good pace, executing word orders and demands.
  • Good human relations to relate cordially with team members and workers.
  • The ability to effectively use a variety of hand and power tools, operate a forklift, read blueprints, follow verbal and written instructions, communicate effectively in both oral and written form, maintain work logs, and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with those in the course of work assignments.
  • Experience with automated machines, knowledge in pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical trouble-shooting.
  • Knowledge of methods used in maintaining and repairing industrial machinery and executing preventative maintenance.
  • The ability to lift 50 lbs. unassisted and 100 lbs. with assistance.
