Ideal candidates will possess:

  • A strong commitment to teamwork, innovation, and collaborative practice.
  • Expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of nerve and muscle disorders.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Neurology and Neuromuscular medicine, including proficiency in EMG and/or Clinical Neurophysiology.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for teaching and engaging in academic activities.

What we provide:

  • A position focused entirely on outpatient care, with inpatient responsibilities managed by dedicated Neurohospitalists.
  • Robust interdisciplinary collaboration within the specialty.
  • Opportunities to educate medical students, neurology residents, and neurophysiology fellows.
  • Participation in neuromuscular clinical trials and collaboration with university-wide research initiatives, with mentorship from experienced investigators and principal investigators.
  • Integration of a portion of the role with the Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
  • 10-20% of unallocated time for personal interests.
  • Minimal on-call responsibilities, averaging only 1-2 nights per month.
  • Comprehensive support for individual professional interests.

About the MUSC Neuromuscular Program:

  • A dynamic team comprising 2 faculty members, 1 advanced practice provider, efficient administrative staff, EMG lab specialists, and nursing personnel.
