Position Overview
The Senior Director of Global Treasury is responsible for overseeing essential operational and intercompany functions and tools. This role leads initiatives aimed at enhancing departmental capabilities and increasing access to liquidity resources while providing comprehensive Treasury support for new business activities. The director plays a pivotal role in the department's risk management and governance functions, offering expertise and support to Treasury Operations and the wider Treasury team.
This position may allow for remote work from a US location.
Key Responsibilities
- Directs the strategic vision for the Treasury's Funding Desk, collaborating with Treasury leadership, Treasury Operations, Structured Finance, and other critical stakeholders to identify, develop, and implement funding solutions. Works closely with the Treasury Operations team to enhance operational efficiency, capabilities, and transparency of the Funding Desk, executing any proposed improvements.
- Manages and leads the Treasury's derivative cash collateral pool and the FXAll online foreign exchange trading platform, while overseeing the operation of the multi-lateral netting center, ensuring compliance with central bank regulations. Maintains and updates all relevant process documentation.
- Spearheads and engages in Treasury projects aimed at developing departmental capabilities, building infrastructure, enhancing efficiency, and expanding resources to support strategic initiatives and objectives of the department and the company. Acts as the Treasury business lead on cross-functional projects as assigned.
- Collaborates with the Executive Director of Global Treasury to provide Treasury support for new reinsurance transactions and acquisitions in both international and domestic markets.
- Assists the Assistant Treasurer and the department's legal entity risk management and governance responsibilities through quantitative analysis, reporting, and presentations to legal entity Boards, Officers, and risk committees.
- Offers subject matter expertise and support for the Treasury Operations team in daily operational activities, including foreign exchange spot trading, borrowing and investing, as well as metrics development, tracking, and reporting.
- Influences the outcomes of the Treasury organization through value creation. Aids in the development of departmental goals, training plans, job descriptions, and supports the annual planning process. Participates in efforts to recruit and retain talent. Monitors and maintains Global Treasury efficiency metrics. Provides coaching to facilitate knowledge transfer, complex concepts, and developmental opportunities for Treasury team members.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in treasury or cash management, with at least 3 years in risk management activities, preferably with exposure to foreign exchange and interest rate derivatives.
Skills and Abilities
Required:
- Proficient in risk management principles and tools, with intermediate knowledge of derivatives, their valuation, and related accounting principles.
- Intermediate understanding of global capital markets, including various forms of debt issuance, lending arrangements, derivatives, and other capital market products and structures.
- Highly skilled in managing multiple tasks, projects, and teams simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
- Strong ability to collaborate with individuals across diverse operational, functional, and technical areas.
- Comprehensive knowledge of treasury operations, liquidity management, and cash forecasting techniques.
- Adept at identifying, analyzing, and enhancing complex business processes by leveraging treasury expertise and business acumen.
- Demonstrates initiative and accountability.
- Capable of working effectively with all levels of management and independently.
- Works well within a team and engages in departmental projects while balancing detail with departmental objectives.
- Must exhibit flexibility and adaptability to change.
- Advanced skills in Excel and intermediate skills in Word.
