Commercial and Industrial Engineering Internship

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Commercial and Industrial Engineering Intern to join our team at Generac Power Systems. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work on various engineering projects, gain hands-on experience, and develop your technical skills.
Key Responsibilities- Assist engineers in fulfilling engineering duties and support projects as needed.
- Work under supervision to support analysis, manufacturing, assembly, and service.
- Develop technical skills through challenging assignments and usage of technical tools.
- Collaborate with internal manufacturing partners, contract manufacturers, designers, and product specialists to optimize basic designs for manufacturability.
- Travel to other Generac facilities as necessary.
- Currently pursuing a BS degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Civil Engineering.
- Understanding or working knowledge of Pro-E and/or AutoCAD experience.
- Microsoft Office experience, including Excel.
- Proficient oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work full-time during the summer (40-hour week) and potential for work over breaks.
Completion of Sophomore year.
Level of IndependenceReceives close technical instruction, guidance, and direction from others. Performs routine assignments in the entry level of the Professional Career Band.
Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion, the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to pounds.
Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision, and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
