Industrial Control Panel Builder Job Description

As an Industrial Control Panel Builder at Engineering Specialists, Inc., you will play a crucial role in designing and building complex industrial control panels that meet our customers' unique needs. Your expertise in reading electrical schematics and wiring industrial control panels will be essential in ensuring the quality and functionality of our products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Attend kickoff meetings with the Engineering team and customers to understand project requirements and specifications.
  • Build and wire complex industrial control panels from start to finish, following electrical schematics and ensuring high-quality results.
  • Identify and resolve concerns with schematics and drawings that may impact the overall quality and functioning of the completed project.
  • Escalate any concerns or issues related to project timeline, quality, or other matters to Account Managers.
  • Conduct field service work at customer locations, including troubleshooting or wiring turnkey automation equipment (up to 15% travel time).
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of experience in building and wiring industrial control panels.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
  • Familiarity with Electrical Codes and UL.
  • Valid driver's license with ability to travel to other work or customer locations.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

The work environment is light industrial, with moderate noise levels. Daily operations involve the use of basic power tools, hand tools, and repetitive hand motion in manipulating electrical wires. Sitting, standing, and bending at the waist for up to 3 consecutive hours may be required. Climbing stairs and moving freely between aisles of parts, equipment, and shelving units are also necessary.
