  • Filing of pleadings in both state and federal court.
  • Maintaining docketing for attorneys, including assisting with calculation of court and discovery deadlines in accordance with state and federal rules.
  • Providing administrative support to attorneys, assisting with processing invoices, coordinating scheduling of depositions, and ensuring compliance with client preferences and guidelines.
  • Assisting with opening new files, including downloading, printing, and organizing initial case documents and electronic files.
  • Assisting attorneys with management of schedules, including providing support coordinating travel, assisting with scheduling meetings, and managing attorney schedules.
  • Preparing correspondence and other written documents under attorney direction.
  • Assisting with service of documents by coordinating and communicating with process servers.
  • Ensuring organization of files, including maintenance and management.
  • Monitoring files and escalating issues requiring attorney involvement.
  • Working as a team player with other support staff, assigned attorney team, and overall firm for appropriate coverage as needed.
  • Assisting as needed with answering phones and coverage of reception duties.
  • Demonstrating knowledge of firm policies and procedures.

  • 3+ years of prior legal assistant experience supporting litigators in civil defense in a high-volume, fast-paced law firm environment.
  • CO State and Federal Court filing, including E-Filing experience, required.
  • Familiarity with Colorado State and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, required.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, superior communication and organizational skills, decisive judgment, high attention to detail, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • High School Diploma or its equivalent, required.
