Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Litigation Paralegal to join our team at Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie LLP. As a Litigation Paralegal, you will provide organizational and practice-specific assistance to attorneys in a specialized litigation team, preparing cases from onset through post-trial, including related research and analysis.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to learn new technology quickly. You will be responsible for assisting attorneys in all stages of litigation cases, including document preparation, discovery, and trial support. You will also be responsible for maintaining electronic and hard-copy documents, tracking spreadsheets, and coordinating with attorneys and other paralegals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist attorneys in all stages of litigation cases from onset through post-trial
  • Assist attorneys and other paralegals in large-scale projects outside of typical litigation scope
  • Oversee organization, maintenance, and appropriate utilization of electronic and hard-copy documents and other case-related materials
  • Assist and manage the discovery process and prepares for depositions
  • Participate in document reviews and document productions
  • Perform analytical tasks, including reviewing and summarizing documents and deposition transcripts
  • Assist with basic legal research, including locating cases, statutes, and regulatory materials
  • Assist with law and motion practice, including assembling motion papers and exhibits, coordinating filings of pleadings and briefs, and ensuring proper service
  • Draft common pleadings, motions, notices, and other court filings
  • Familiar with federal and state rules of procedure and evidence for document format, content, filing, etc., and ensures compliance with rules
  • Perform and oversee both simple and complex authority and fact cite-checking, confirms case quotes, proofreads briefs and other legal documents
  • Assist with trial preparations, including creating trial notebooks, identifying and organizing exhibits, coordinating witness schedules, maintaining trial calendars, and communicating effectively with opposing counsel and courtroom staff
  • Assist in preparation of post-trial filings, including briefing, motions for costs and sanctions, etc., and organize the case for an appeal, if necessary
  • Maintain timely and accurate timekeeping records on a daily basis
  • Assist with other department activities as needed, and performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a Bachelor's Degree and Paralegal Certification, or equivalent experience. You will also need to have a minimum of 7 or more years of experience as a Litigation Paralegal working on construction defect litigation matters within a multi-lawyer law firm. You will need to be proficient in Windows-based software and Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook, as well as document management. You will also need to be familiar with e-filing and litigation support applications, such as e-discovery platforms, FileSite/WorkSite, Adobe Acrobat, cloud-based file-sharing platforms, and similar technology.

What We Offer:

We offer a competitive compensation package, including a salary range of $90,000 - $115,000 depending on experience.
