Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Specialist III to join our team at Yale New Haven Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing primary support for security issues, building and installing applications, and coordinating project activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Security Implementation and Support:
    • Supports security implementation and support, including analysis, planning, and preparation.
    • Designs, configures, and tests interfaces and reports according to departmental standards.
    • Determines the need to create in-house programs to support the new system.
    • Identifies and recommends changes in workflow, procedures, forms, and/or data to make optimal use of the new system.
    • Provides team input to workflow, design, build, and testing expertise to ensure a successful implementation.
    • Assists in resolving major design issues and recommends solutions for resolution.
    • Analyzes business processes to ensure proper system configuration.
    • Logs, tracks, and resolves issues and changes related to software code modifications or enhancements.
    • Monitors and responds to Security Events.
    • Informs management of all issues that are impacting or will impact assigned areas.
    • Expected to provide 24x7 Support where required.
    • Expected to manage 1-2 small projects simultaneously.
    • Expected to maintain Subject Matter Expertise in 2-3 IT Security areas.
  • Teamwork:
    • Creates and maintains regular status reports to immediate manager.
    • Attends weekly team meetings to discuss team and project-related activities, issues, change, communications, and updates.
    • Completes specific task activities as documented in project plan and/or assigned by manager.
    • Works with training team to develop application-specific training curriculums and materials.
    • Supports all project team members with application and information systems knowledge.
    • Promotes a team atmosphere that is conducive to the overall accomplishment of goals, schedules, and deadlines.
    • Openly shares information with all team members.
    • Willingness to subordinate individual goals for team goals.
    • Proactively recommends solutions to security issues.
  • Other:
    • Coordinates interactions and activities of vendors, both on-site and off-site.
    • Works closely with end users to identify business needs and benefits of implementing a computing solution and strives to understand their needs.
    • Demonstrates ability and drive to eliminate security vulnerabilities from YNHHS systems.
Qualifications
  • EDUCATION:
    • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience required.
  • EXPERIENCE:
    • 3-5 Years IT Security Experience.
  • LICENSURE:
    • None; Expectation to attain CISSP or equivalent within 1 year.
  • SPECIAL SKILLS:
    • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines with minimal supervision and ability to deal with simultaneous tasks, communicate effectively, problem solve, and develop creative solutions to complex problems required.
    • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and listening skills, attention to detail, innovative thinking, and ability to inspire others required.
    • Must possess a high level of customer service skills and participate as a strong, collaborative team player.
    • Capable of taking a leadership role in managing end-user relationships.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools required.
    • Familiarity and/or certification in Epic is preferred.
