Mechanical Equipment Inspector Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Equipment Inspector to join our team at Georgia State University. As a key member of our Facilities Management Services team, you will be responsible for maintaining, inspecting, and repairing HVAC and other equipment to ensure the smooth operation of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and repair HVAC and other equipment to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Inspect equipment regularly to identify potential issues and perform preventative maintenance.
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors to schedule maintenance and repairs.
  • Prepare and submit reports on equipment inspections and maintenance activities.
  • Perform general repair work, including electrical and plumbing tasks.
  • Assist in the planning and scheduling of preventative maintenance.
Requirements:
  • Technical or vocational degree and two years of HVAC experience, or high school diploma and four years of HVAC experience.
  • EPA Technician CFC/HCFC and HFC Universal certification.
  • Knowledge of large chiller systems and building, mechanical, and trades areas.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze and solve equipment failures.
