Position Overview

The Environmental Health and Safety Engineer is tasked with enhancing and executing safety protocols, policies, and training initiatives aimed at improving industrial safety and health outcomes while ensuring adherence to regulatory standards. This role necessitates a full-time on-site commitment and reports directly to the Senior Manager of Facilities & EHS.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to safety regulations and foster a culture of safety awareness and compliance.
  • Develop and implement safety programs and policies to align with OSHA and other regulatory standards.
  • Oversee and manage initiatives related to hazard communication, personal protective equipment (PPE), lockout/tagout procedures, electrical safety, confined space entry, fire safety, and other compliance areas.
  • Coordinate accident prevention strategies, conduct incident investigations, and propose corrective measures.
  • Monitor compliance with safety regulations, provide guidance to management, and supervise inspections and reporting processes.
  • Administer and track health and safety training for both employees and contractors.
  • Evaluate and mitigate health and safety risks associated with operations.
  • Stay informed about regulatory updates and revise standard operating procedures as necessary.
  • Assist in emergency response planning and training initiatives.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Health and Safety or a related discipline is preferred.
  • 2-5 years of experience in manufacturing, engineering, or safety roles is preferred.
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations, state laws, and NFPA standards.
  • Strong communication and training capabilities.
  • Ability to independently resolve technical challenges.
  • Experience with multi-shift operations and emergency management protocols.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
