Position Overview:
The Tesla Manufacturing team is in search of a dedicated Manufacturing Equipment Engineer. This role is pivotal in troubleshooting and enhancing equipment, fixtures, and end-of-arm tooling (EOAT).

Key Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of projects throughout their entire lifecycle, from initial concept through fabrication to production readiness.
- Provide day-to-day technical support for production equipment, ensuring smooth operations.
- Engage in problem-solving, analyzing, and addressing operational challenges with enthusiasm.
- Design innovative tooling, fixtures, assembly aids, and equipment for use on manufacturing lines.
- Create detailed machine designs, including layouts and part/assembly drawings.
- Develop CAD models and technical 2D drawings for new tooling and equipment, conducting FEA structural analyses as needed.
- Define and contribute to specifications and requirements for outsourced tooling and equipment, including standardized RFQ documents for suppliers.
- Collaborate on product design for manufacturability (DFM), DFMEA, and sustainability initiatives.
- Execute CAE/CFD simulations to theoretically assess and mitigate risks associated with new process/equipment design changes.
- Utilize tools like Minitab/JMP for data analysis and presentation of experimental findings.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in equipment design and custom machine-building.
- Proficient in SolidWorks 3D CAD and 2D drawing software.
- Strong understanding of drafting standards and the application of GD&T.
- Familiarity with BOMs, OEE, manufacturability, DFM, process design, validation, assembly methods, and cost reduction strategies.
- Experience with common machine components such as electromechanical systems, motors, actuators, and more.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and assignments in a dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of modern machine controls, including PLCs and pneumatic systems.
- Basic understanding of electrical schematics and the functions of electrical devices.
