Insurance Risk Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Insurance Risk Manager to join our team at Argo Group. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for monitoring and assessing insurance risks within the company.
Key Responsibilities- Identify and Assess Insurance Risks: You will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and managing insurance risks that are material to Argo Group.
- Design and Maintain Risk Indicators: You will design and maintain key risk indicators (KRIs) and RAG trigger limits to monitor trends in risk exposures.
- Provide Input on Risk Appetite: You will provide input into the Insurance risk appetite and monitor the risk profile to address timely potential breaches.
- Challenge Risk Management: You will provide challenges and questioning on the management of Insurance risks, including providing input into the annual ORSA, business plan risk review, and updating of business plan risk watch list.
- Collaborate with Actuarial Team: You will work closely with the Economic Capital Modelling team, particularly in insurance risk calibration and outputs.
- Maintain Effective Systems and Controls: You will assist in the maintenance of effective systems and controls regarding exposure to aggregations of insurance risk.
- Raise Risk Management Profile: You will raise the profile of risk management and work with the business to support understanding.
- Develop Risk Management Information: You will design, socialize, and develop Risk management information (MI) that facilitates visibility and oversight of current risk issues, as well as forward-looking and trigger-based MI.
- Experience in Risk Management: You will have experience of managing cross-product line risk aggregation or quantitative portfolio analysis experience.
- Strong Communication Skills: You will have strong communication skills with the ability to facilitate discussions and assessments at varied levels of the organization.
- Knowledge of Insurance Industry: You will have a strong working knowledge and familiarity of the General insurance industry with an understanding of Insurance Risk.
- Strategic Thinking: You will have strategic thinking skills, building a strategy and roadmap, securing buy-in.
- Analytical Skills: You will have analytical skills, leveraging data and analytics to deliver effective risk management.
- Creative Problem-Solving: You will have creative problem-solving skills, formulating new concepts, challenging the status quo.
- Collaborative Approach: You will have a collaborative approach, establishing excellent relationships, bringing people closer together, a team player.
- Prioritization and Diligence: You will have prioritization and diligence skills, planning work efficiently with minimal errors.

- Commercial Acumen: You will have commercial acumen, synthesizing analytical skill with commercial insight.
- Organizational Skills: You will have organizational skills, consistently delivering tasks and meeting deadlines.
We offer a competitive compensation package, including a base salary range of $157,900-$189,500 USD, an annual bonus based on company and individual performance, and a generous benefits package.
