Position Summary

The Community Engagement Coordinator plays a vital role in promoting and facilitating the Girl Scout Leadership Experience for girls in grades K-5 across diverse communities. This position is essential for driving membership growth and delivering engaging programs that inspire girls to learn new skills and prepare for future leadership roles in a supportive environment. The role involves program delivery through various formats, including in-person, virtual, and hybrid settings, and requires travel within designated counties.

Compensation

The hourly wage ranges from $16.50 to $18.50, based on experience and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality Girl Scout programming in diverse communities, utilizing national curriculum standards.
  • Facilitate girl-led activities that empower participants and address relevant issues in their lives.
  • Stay informed about the best practices and resources available through the Girl Scouts of the USA.
  • Collaborate with school representatives and community partners to ensure effective program implementation.
  • Prioritize safety by adhering to established policies and guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate records and manage administrative tasks related to program operations.
  • Assist in gathering performance data to evaluate program effectiveness.
  • Support the development of communication strategies to engage families and community partners.
  • Address barriers to participation for underserved populations, including transportation and financial challenges.
  • Engage in ongoing learning to enhance cultural competency and effective communication.
  • Manage resources responsibly, including ordering and distributing program materials.
  • Stay updated on community trends and issues impacting girls and program delivery.
  • Work collaboratively with staff and volunteers to identify recruitment needs.
  • Promote inclusivity and nondiscriminatory practices in all interactions.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to members, volunteers, and community partners.

Qualifications

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse groups and support staff and volunteers effectively.
  • Two years of experience in child development, education, or a related field, or an Associate's degree in a relevant area.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle, with compliance to insurance requirements.

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in technical skills, particularly with spreadsheets.
