Job Summary

Stony Brook Medicine is seeking a highly skilled Emergency Medical Technician to join our team. As a vital member of our Emergency Medical Services team, you will provide life-saving care and transportation to patients in need of emergency medical attention.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide basic life support services in an out-of-hospital setting
  • Assist Emergency Medical Technicians (Paramedics) and other medical care providers in providing advanced level medical care
  • Coordinate transport, operate ambulances, and maintain transportation equipment
  • Provide administrative support to the Emergency Services Coordinator as needed
  • Perform other duties related to Emergency Medical Service transportation services as assigned
Requirements
  • New York State Health Department certification as an Emergency Medical Technician
  • Appropriate New York State driver's license for the type of vehicle to be operated
  • Preferred certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), Basic Trauma Life Support (BTLS), Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Neonatal Advanced Life Support (NALS), National Registry
