Job Summary

Stony Brook Medicine is seeking a highly skilled Emergency Medical Technician to join our team. As an EMT, you will provide life support services and transport patients in need of emergency hospital care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Emergency Medical Technicians (Paramedics) and other medical care providers in providing advanced level medical care.
  • Coordinate transport, operate the ambulance, and maintain transportation equipment and supplies.
  • Provide administrative support to the Emergency Services Coordinator as needed.
  • Perform other duties related to Emergency Medical Service transportation as assigned.
Qualifications
  • New York State Health Department certification as an Emergency Medical Technician.
  • Appropriate New York State driver's license for the type of vehicle to be operated.
  • Preferred certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), Basic Trauma Life Support (BTLS), Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Neonatal Advanced Life Support (NALS), National Registry.
