Project Engineer, Capital Equipment Specialist

The Project Engineer, Capital Equipment is responsible for applications engineering, which includes designing, defining, implementing system requirements, analyzing, and/or testing company products to create and develop system solutions based on customer requirements.
This position will conduct feasibility tests and work on process development projects to meet customer specifications and/or requirements. The Project Engineer, Capital Equipment will be responsible for the development of bill of materials, drawing of system diagrams, overseeing the design, and managing system orders from quote to installation.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with customers to complete project definition and scope of work.
Drive Nordson standard system solutions throughout by leveraging the success of proven solutions.
Support sales/customer reviews.
Support new system quotes that clearly define the deliverables to customers that will meet their application requirements.
Utilize established standard processes.
Timely communication to customers.
Support the development of complete and accurate system documentation.
Embrace and follow the standard work practices developed for application engineering.
Perform the engineering required to deliver an engineered system that meets and/or exceeds the application requirements.
Apply basic engineering principles using system problem-solving methods.
Develop new solutions/applications.
On or off-site pre-installation meetings and installation work as needed.
Requirements:
Requires a BS Engineering degree with 2 years of experience in a similar role.
In the absence of a degree, 7 years of equivalent relative experience will be considered.
Requires the use of disciplined engineering principles and practices.
Preferred skills and abilities include project management experience, PMP, excellent time management, product and process development, risk management, root cause analysis, excellent technical writing and verbal communication, and the ability to work on problems of moderate scope where advanced statistics is required.
Must be able to travel to customer sites domestically and internationally.
Fluid delivery system experience is preferred.
Ability to develop an understanding and practice of Nordson values and competencies.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
The employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and talk or hear. Occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. Requires close vision ability.
