Job Title: Regional Food Service Operations Manager

General Overview:
This role is pivotal in ensuring that food service operations across stores align with corporate policies and standards. The manager will establish benchmarks for customer satisfaction, employee engagement, cleanliness, sanitation, professional presentation, and overall profitability.
Reporting Structure:
Accountable to: Regional Vice President
Key Responsibilities:
- Generate innovative sales and marketing strategies for food service department leaders.
- Oversee the quality and freshness of products in retail locations.
- Analyze monthly performance metrics, including inventory levels, sales figures, profit margins, and employee productivity.
- Educate department managers on effective planning and operational strategies.
- Uphold standards by communicating, training, and reinforcing corporate expectations regarding sanitation practices and product quality, variety, and pricing.
- Stay informed on industry trends, including new food products, equipment, and methodologies.
- Contribute to the development of new offerings.
- Ensure competitive pricing within the market.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Execute other job-related tasks and special projects as necessary.
- Attend and engage in company meetings, industry conferences, and trade exhibitions.
- Perform departmental tasks as required, including stocking displays and assisting in sales areas.
- Manage the receiving of deliveries, ensuring accurate check-in of merchandise and proper storage.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; 3-5 years of experience in food service management is preferred.
Supervisory Duties:
- Directing, assigning, and reviewing the work of others while maintaining operational standards.
Physical Demands:
- Visual acuity to see details at close range, with or without correction.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting or carrying items up to 100 pounds, and engaging in significant standing or walking.
- Capability to perform various physical activities such as stooping, kneeling, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
- Dedication to the Hy-Vee mission and a willingness to uphold company values.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with individuals in a friendly and professional manner.
- Proficient in problem identification and solution development.
- Familiarity with basic computer systems, including word processing, spreadsheets, email applications, and job-specific software.
Regular pressure to meet deadlines is expected.
Equipment Utilized:
Standard office equipment including calculators, telephones, copiers, FAX machines, PCs with Excel, and printers, as well as typical tools used in food service operations.
Financial Accountability:
Responsible for ordering departmental equipment and managing company assets.
Interactions:
Daily engagement with store personnel and monthly interactions with suppliers/vendors.
Confidentiality:
Access to sensitive financial information is required.
