Job Summary:

As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer at Sutter Health, you will be responsible for performing routine and specialized sonography procedures to produce high-quality images for physicians and other healthcare providers. You will work independently, exercising sound judgment and executing developed clinical skills to deliver accurate results in a timely manner. Your role will also involve gaining confidence and cooperation from patients, their families, and other healthcare providers through competent patient assessment, attentive monitoring, and effective communication. Additionally, you may be responsible for performing specific procedures and/or orienting other staff to the department.

Responsibilities:

Competently perform routine and specialized sonography procedures of moderate complexity to produce quality images

Work independently, exercising sound judgment, and executing developed clinical skills to deliver accurate results in a timely manner

Gain confidence and cooperation from patients, their families, and other healthcare providers through competent patient assessment, attentive monitoring, and effective communication

Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to ensure privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care

Requirements:

Graduation from an accredited formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program

ARDMS-American Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer certification

BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification

Two of the following certifications: AB-Abdomen, BR-Breast, FE-Fetal Echocardiography, OB/GYN-Obstetrics & Gynecology, PS-Pediatric Sonography, RVT-Registered Vascular Technician

Preferred Qualifications:

2 years of recent relevant experience

Intermediate knowledge of diagnostic sonography principles, procedures, views, and equipment

Proficient in performing sonographic examinations with a solid understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
