What will you be doing?

The Beverage Specialist will possess extensive knowledge of cocktail crafting. This role requires the ability to identify and prepare a diverse range of drinks, following established recipes and precise measurement techniques, complete with suitable garnishes, correct pricing, and appropriate glassware. The Beverage Specialist will also be familiar with the operation and maintenance of various bar equipment, including but not limited to frozen drink machines, dishwashers, ice machines, pouring guns, and other relevant beverage apparatus.

Key Responsibilities

(These tasks are intended as a general overview of the duties performed in this role and are not exhaustive.)

  • The Beverage Specialist will have comprehensive knowledge of all food and drink menu items and daily specials.
  • Understand and adhere to the sequence of service standards for the Beverage Specialist role, as well as all expectations for the Lounge Serving Team.
  • The Beverage Specialist will be equipped to provide food service at a level that matches the dining room staff's quality.
  • Ensure compliance with and enforcement of alcohol awareness regulations and protocols.
  • The Beverage Specialist will consistently maintain a clean and organized bar area.
  • Complete side work, cleaning, and stocking tasks as assigned, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness.
  • The Beverage Specialist will have the creativity to design and prepare craft cocktails to precise specifications, showcasing flair in their presentation.
  • Possess knowledge of garnishes and the ability to create intricate garnishes for drink presentations.
  • Exhibit excellent communication skills.
  • The Beverage Specialist will be able to memorize and accurately recite scripted dialogue.
  • Ability to describe and promote food and beverages to enhance the guest experience.
  • Manage cash transactions for bar checks, adhering to all cash handling policies and procedures.
  • Perform any other related miscellaneous duties as directed by supervisors or management.

What are we looking for?

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of six (6) months of bartending experience in a high-volume bar, service bar, or fine dining setting.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of cocktail recipes.
  • Extensive understanding of wine and craft beer.
  • Ability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
  • Capability to lift, carry, and maneuver up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain any necessary licenses and/or certifications.
