The Fox C-6 School District is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Culinary Operations Manager to oversee the preparation, planning, and serving of the school meal program. This key role is responsible for managing and directing the production and service of quality, nutritious meals to students in a specific school or schools.
Key Responsibilities- Menu Planning and Execution: Develop and implement menus that meet the nutritional needs of students, while also considering dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Food Safety and Sanitation: Ensure that all food handling and preparation procedures meet or exceed federal, state, and local health and safety standards.
- Staff Supervision and Training: Provide guidance and support to kitchen staff, including training on food safety, sanitation, and preparation procedures.
- Inventory Management: Oversee the ordering and inventory of food and supplies, ensuring that all necessary items are on hand to meet menu requirements.
- Customer Service: Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and school staff, responding to concerns and feedback in a timely and professional manner.
- Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of food usage, inventory, and other relevant data, providing regular reports to school administrators and district officials.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., culinary arts, nutrition, food science) preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in food service management, with a focus on menu planning, food safety, and staff supervision.
- Certifications: ServSafe Manager Certification required; additional certifications (e.g., food safety, nutrition) may be beneficial.
- Skills: Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
The Culinary Operations Manager will work in a school kitchen environment, with frequent exposure to heat, noise, and other physical demands. The ability to lift 40 pounds and stand for extended periods is required.
