Role Summary:

As a Dietitian at CoreLife, you will engage with patients daily, devising tailored strategies for weight management. Your primary objective will be to ensure exceptional care by supervising all facets of the patient's dietary and nutritional needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess the nutritional backgrounds of patients.
  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Conduct nutrition assessments and relevant diagnostic evaluations.
  • Create and implement personalized nutritional care plans for each patient.
  • Maintain accurate and updated patient documentation.
  • Educate patients on fundamental nutritional principles and weight management.
  • Ensure high-quality care by managing all aspects of the patient's dietary regimen through effective counseling.

Specific Duties:

  • Assess patients by considering their weight, dietary habits, medical history, exercise routines, social circumstances, and family backgrounds to establish baseline histories for ongoing care.
  • Work closely with professionals from various disciplines to deliver comprehensive and coherent care to patients.
  • Interpret and explain body composition analysis and metabolic testing results to patients.
  • Develop individualized care plans that cater to the patient's specific needs, considering their diagnoses, lifestyle, limitations, responsibilities, and aspirations.
  • Document each counseling session in a manner that allows other team members to seamlessly continue care.
  • Evaluate the patient's current understanding of nutrition and actively enhance their knowledge and confidence in managing their weight and lifestyle.
  • Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to encourage patients to pursue healthier choices and foster accountability.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited institution in Foods and Nutrition, including completion of an accredited Dietetic Internship, qualifying for the Registered Dietitian examination with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.

Licensure/Certification:

  • Must be Registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration and licensed by the relevant state authority.
  • Current CPR certification is required.

  • Ability to think critically, integrating facts, informed opinions, active listening, and observations.
  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and collaborative skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to foster productive relationships with a multidisciplinary team and support services.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for interaction with patients, the public, medical staff, and physicians.
  • Proficiency in counseling and motivating individuals and groups.
  • General knowledge of nutrient analysis and proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software.
  • Adaptability to changes in medical protocols and policies.

Work Environment:

This position is situated in a professional medical office setting, utilizing standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands outlined here represent those necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. Regular communication is required, along with frequent standing, walking, and the use of hands for handling or feeling. The ability to occasionally lift office supplies up to 20 pounds is also necessary.
