Job Overview

Position Summary

Your role will involve providing compassionate care to patients and their families, ensuring a supportive environment. You will engage with physicians and other healthcare professionals in a manner that reflects the values of our department and institution.

Qualifications

Education: Must be a graduate of an AMA or CAHE accredited Radiation Therapy Technology program.

Experience: While not mandatory, prior experience is preferred.

Licensure/Certification: Must hold certification from the American Registry of Radiological Technology in Radiation Therapy or be registry eligible.

Skills and Competencies: Strong foundational dosimetry skills, excellent interpersonal and communication abilities (both written and verbal), and effective organizational skills are essential. Proficiency in mold room techniques, accelerator and simulator operations, as well as dark room procedures is required.

Work Environment

Be prepared for both direct and indirect exposure to airborne and bloodborne pathogens, as well as other potentially infectious materials. You may encounter cerrobend fumes and darkroom chemicals, and experience periods of high stress. Limited radiation exposure is expected, along with participation in emergency callback rotations.

Physical Demands

This position requires mobility throughout the shift, including the lifting of patients with assistance on a daily basis. Essential functions include speech, hearing, and sight capabilities, as well as digital dexterity. You will need to lift cerrobend blocks weighing up to 50 lbs.
