Nurse Specialist

Job Summary:
As a key member of the healthcare team, the Staff Nurse-ICU Unit will utilize the nursing process to provide high-quality patient care in the intensive care unit. This role requires strong clinical skills, leadership abilities, and excellent communication skills to interact with patients, families, and other healthcare team members.
Responsibilities:
- Provide cost-efficient care with excellent clinical outcomes for patients, families, and other members of the healthcare team.
- Direct, provide, and evaluate age-specific patient care according to the department's scope of service.
- Communicate clearly and concisely verbally and in writing with patients, families, and other healthcare team members.
- Exposure to bloodborne pathogens and other infectious diseases requires the use of protective equipment.
- Requires a range of physical activity from sedentary work to heavy work, including sitting, standing, walking, and lifting patients and objects throughout the shift.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina.
- BLS certification, ACLS certification within one year.
- Additional certifications such as PALS, TNCC, and ENPC encouraged but not required.
Work Environment:
Exposure to other hazards such as radiation, toxic waste, and chemical hazards based on the department.
Physical Requirements:
Requires a range of physical activity from sedentary work to heavy work.
