Key Responsibilities- Assist veterinarians in the practice of veterinary medicine and surgery, including preparing patients for procedures and monitoring vital signs.
- Conduct outpatient exams, taking histories, vital signs, and weights, and provide client education on animal care and health.
- Obtain blood, stool, and other samples for laboratory testing and prepare specimens for outside laboratories.
- Administer and monitor medications, anesthesia, vaccines, and treatments as directed by veterinarians.
- Provide basic animal handling and restrain animals during exams, ensuring the safety and well-being of both patients and staff.
- State license to work as a certified/licensed/registered veterinary technician in the state of desired employment.
- Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds, with assistance for heavier loads.
- Practice OSHA safety techniques, including proper PPE.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with MS office applications.
- Strong communication skills to ensure patient safety and effective collaboration with veterinarians and practice team members.
