Job Summary

Ohio Gratings Inc. is seeking a skilled Metal Fabrication Specialist to join our team. As a Welder/Fabricator I, you will be responsible for fabricating metal grating with precision and accuracy, adhering to strict quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret and execute detailed drawings and specifications to fabricate metal grating, ensuring accuracy and quality.
  • Operate various power tools and equipment, including overhead cranes, to move and place grating panels.
  • Meet productivity and quality expectations, maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Collaborate with the team to troubleshoot and resolve welding and fabrication issues.
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment and identify areas for improvement.
  • Accurately complete paperwork and time sheets to manage inventory and track progress.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2-4 years of fabrication training and/or experience preferred.
  • Experience with MIG and Stick Welding, Oxy/Fuel torch, and Plasma torch on Carbon, Stainless Steel, and/or Aluminum.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprint drawings, use and safely operate overhead cranes, and perform mathematical operations with whole numbers and fractions.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Working Conditions

The work environment requires standing, walking, stooping, bending, reaching, grasping, pushing, and pulling grating material of various sizes and weights for extended periods. Regularly lifting or moving up to 50 pounds and occasionally lifting or moving up to 75 pounds is required.

Exposure to noise, dust, heat, and cold on a regular basis. Exposure to machine and tool hazards requiring care and attention to safety rules and standards.

Compensation

$21 - $22 per hour.
