Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to join our Cardiothoracic Surgery team at Lutheran Hospital. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care, collaborate with surgeons and other healthcare professionals, and contribute to the development of our cardiac surgery program.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of cardiac and thoracic surgical patients
  • Collaborate with cardiothoracic surgeons and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans
  • Participate in surgical procedures, including first assisting and post-operative care
  • Manage patient medications, including ordering and administering medications as prescribed by the surgeon
  • Monitor patient vital signs and laboratory results, and take appropriate action as needed
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination

Requirements:

  • Current licensure as an APRN in the state of Indiana
  • Prescriptive authority
  • Experience in cardiothoracic surgery or a related field
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
