Job Summary:

We are looking for a qualified Preschool Teacher to lead our Head Start or Early Head Start classroom. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education, excellent communication skills, and the ability to create a nurturing and engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and implement daily lesson plans that meet federal performance standards and promote educational and enrichment activities for preschool-age children.
  • Develop and implement individual education plans that comply with federal performance standards and address the unique needs of each child.
  • Monitor and ensure a safe and healthy environment for children, including meal and snack periods, classroom activities, and playground supervision.
  • Communicate effectively with parents through regular conferences, written correspondence, and phone calls to keep them informed of their child's progress and upcoming events.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and effective program that meets the needs of all children.
Requirements:
  • Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
  • At least two years of experience teaching preschool-age children in a Head Start or Early Head Start program.
  • Ability to lift at least 45 pounds and provide physical assistance in the transportation of special needs children.
  • First Aid and CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Successful completion of a Level II background screening, health, TB, and drug screening prior to hiring.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills, particularly in English and Spanish.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and cultures.
  • Knowledge of brain development and its impact on early learning.
