Job Summary:

The Department of Family Medicine & Population Health at the Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a part-time, non-benefited hourly research assistant to support primary care research study activities. This position will be responsible for assisting with research activities, data collection, and administrative tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in research activities, including recruitment, screening, consenting, and enrollment.
  • Assist with qualitative and quantitative data collection.
  • Review and record medical documentation and patient surveys into databases.
  • Assist with medical chart abstraction.
  • Organize patient lists, prepare for printing, and assemble large survey mailings.
  • Contact community resources and primary care practices.
  • Participate in staff meetings and trainings.
  • Perform administrative tasks, including planning and scheduling meetings.
  • Support the PI and other senior study staff with study activities.

Requirements:

  • Previous research experience, including experience handling large data sets and data entry skills.
  • Excellent communication, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
  • Able to maintain HIPAA standards.
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse environment.
  • Available to work on-site at the office.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 2 years of direct research experience.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, REDCap, and/or Epic.
