Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Psychiatrist to join our team at Family Health Centers of San Diego. As a Psychiatrist, you will provide psychiatric services, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment, to a diverse patient population. You will work in a fast-paced, team-based environment, making a difference in your community every day.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive evaluations, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with mental illness, emotional disorders, and/or substance abuse.
  • Examine patients to determine the presence of physical disease, utilizing physical findings, laboratory results, and medical history.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and family members who speak English as a second language.
  • Work effectively as a member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team, coordinating and linking psychiatric treatment plans with therapy, case management, primary care, and community support systems.
  • Provide consultation and support to primary care providers in the management of primary care patients with mental health concerns.
Requirements
  • Board Certification in Psychiatry preferred.
  • Current American Heart Association healthcare provider CPR (BLS), or Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Trauma Life Support, or Advance Resuscitation Training.
  • DEA license.
  • Graduate from an accredited school of medicine; completion of a 3-year residency in General Psychiatry OR current status as a 3rd year resident in a General Psychiatry program.
  • Must possess current unrestricted license to practice in the State of California.
  • Ability to maintain good interpersonal interactions with clients and co-workers as a member of a multi-disciplinary community health team with a diverse multi-cultural population.
  • Ability to work effectively with patients from diverse social, cultural, and economic groups.
  • Ability to work well in both a team-based environment and independently.
  • Basic computer literacy ability to comply with department needs and expectations.
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-based environment, with frequent interactions with patients, family members, and healthcare providers. The Psychiatrist will work in a variety of settings, including outpatient clinics, hospitals, and community health centers.

Compensation

We offer a competitive salary range of $280,000 to $336,500, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. The final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, jurisdictional requirements, skills, education, and/or experience.
