We are seeking a skilled Emergency Department Technician to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a key member of our emergency department, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and families.
Key Responsibilities- Assist physicians and registered nurses in providing technical care to patients, including phlebotomy, patient transportation, and vital sign monitoring.
- Document patient information and communicate effectively with the healthcare team to ensure seamless care.
- Process patient charges and maintain accurate records in our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Collaborate with physicians to facilitate patient care and communicate effectively with patients and families.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to department safety policies and standard precautions.
- Nurse Aide certification or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) licensure is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 6 months of hire.
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
This role requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, lifting, and bending. You must be able to lift up to 50 lbs from the floor to waist level and carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance. You will be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, radiation, and blood and body fluids hazards on a continuous basis.
