Behavioral Health Nurse

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Behavioral Health Nurse to join our team at Masonicare Corp.
Job Summary:The Behavioral Health Nurse will provide professional nursing care to emotionally disturbed and/or mentally ill patients in a 50-bed Behavioral Health Hospital Unit. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in psychiatric nursing and be able to work effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities:- Assumes Professional Responsibility: Provides direct patient care, including medication administration, teaching, and supervision of nursing staff.
- Conducts Intake Assessments: Performs thorough assessments of patients to gather case history and develop a comprehensive care plan.
- Plans and Provides Nursing Care: Develops and implements individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
- Communicates Effectively: Collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Administers Medications: Safely administers medications, including psychotropic drugs, and monitors patient reactions.
- Maintains Patient Confidentiality: Ensures the confidentiality of patient information and maintains accurate records.
- Participates in Quality Improvement: Contributes to quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred.
- Experience: Minimum one year clinical experience, preferably in an acute and/or Behavioral Health capacity.
- Certifications/Licenses: Current RN or LPN license in the State of Connecticut, in good standing.
- Knowledge of: Professional nursing principles, procedures, and techniques used in the care and treatment of psychiatric patients.
- Ability to: Apply professional nursing care principles and procedures in the evaluation and treatment of geropsychiatric patients.
