Job Title: Staff Attorney

Job Summary:

Maryland Legal Aid (MLA) is seeking highly motivated and dedicated Staff Attorneys to join our team. As a Staff Attorney, you will be responsible for providing high-quality legal services to low-income individuals and families in Maryland. You will work closely with our team to ensure that our clients receive the best possible representation and support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Represent clients in court and administrative proceedings
  • Conduct factual investigations and legal research
  • Advise clients on their options and develop case theory and strategy
  • Prepare and file pleadings, motions, and other legal documents
  • Communicate with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders
  • Participate in community outreach and education
Requirements:
  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admitted to practice in the State of Maryland or eligible for admission
  • Excellent research, writing, and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
