Job Title: Shift Lead

About the Role:

The Shift Lead is a vital member of our veterinary team, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our hospital during their shift. This role requires a unique blend of technical skills, leadership abilities, and customer service expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients and their pets, ensuring a positive experience at our hospital.
  • Assist with the coordination and guidance of paraprofessional staff, ensuring they have the necessary support to provide high-quality care.
  • Work closely with the Practice Manager and Chief of Staff to ensure effective communication with clients, associates, and other stakeholders.
  • Manage the flow of clients and pets, ensuring a seamless and efficient experience.
  • Perform a range of technical tasks, including assisting with surgery, maintaining medical records, and ensuring the safety of pets and clients.
  • Conduct administrative tasks, such as managing finances and inventory.

Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Practice Manager in developing an efficient and productive hospital team.
  • Support the Practice Manager in hospital labor management, including adjusting schedules and supervising paraprofessional staff.
  • Provide guidance and training to new paraprofessional associates.
  • Ensure all hospital associates adhere to Banfield's dress and grooming guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree or veterinary technician certification/licensure preferred.
  • Two years of experience in a healthcare or veterinary profession, with six months of experience at Banfield preferred.
  • Prior supervisory experience is a plus.
  • Medical background with medical terminology training is preferred.
