Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervisory Electronics Engineer to lead our team in the development of advanced communication systems for space and aeronautical applications. As a Discipline Lead Engineer, you will provide technical expertise in signal processing, radio systems, and autonomous communications, ensuring the technical integrity of our engineering and research products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership to diverse project teams and organizations
  • Resolve complex technical problems and implement strategies to advance technology development and mission objectives
  • Design, develop, test, and evaluate communication systems and advanced communication technologies
  • Establish guidelines and performance expectations for staff members and communicate them through the formal employee performance management system
  • Resolve informal complaints and grievances, develop work improvement plans, and recommend personnel actions as necessary
  • Obtain resources, identify strategic objectives, and perform succession planning to ensure required skills are available in the organization
  • Recommend employee promotions and recognition, promote employee development through training, mentoring, and coaching, and approve leave
  • Foster a culture of engagement, diversity, inclusiveness, excellence, and innovation, and champion NASA's commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physical Science, Mathematics, Life Science, or Computer Science
  • At least one year of specialized experience in a related field, including experience in technical leadership, problem-solving, and communication system design and development
  • Strong technical expertise in signal processing, radio systems, and autonomous communications
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders
