Temporary Production/Assembly 2nd Shift positions are available at Sparton

We are seeking full-time Temporary Machine Operators who may be interested in converting to permanent hire. This is a 40-hour per week position, with some overtime possible.

Job Summary

Perform routine and/or repetitive operations in a flexible manufacturing environment in accordance with standardized processes, procedures, or methods. This position may require frequent movement throughout the manufacturing operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mechanical and/or electrical operations or assemblies involving fixed indicating meters, in-circuit test/functional test, marking machines, jigs & fixtures, packaging equipment, wire cutting, stripping & twisting equipment, various types of fastening devices involving power operations, hand tools and gauges (fixed, micrometers, calipers, rules).
  • May assemble and/or repair printed wiring assemblies (PWA), subassemblies, instruments, and final assemblies of various components utilizing a wide range of tools, work processes and skills to approved documented procedures/specifications.
  • May be required to handle, mix, and test hazardous chemicals.
  • May perform inspection tasks.
  • May kit and pack printed wiring board assemblies.
  • Initiate and maintain accurate paperwork and records as required by job.
  • Responsible for daily clean-up of all assigned work areas.
  • May interact with computer to enter/extract data.
  • Chemical handlers will be using the flammable cabinets supply to support the lines.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • US Citizenship is required
  • Ability to read and comprehend written work instructions in English.
  • Ability to add/subtract whole numbers, fractions and decimals using direct reading, gauges, rulers, and scales.
  • Successful completion of 1-hour onsite Post Offer Employment Test
  • May be required to lift 50 lbs. as required by job task.
  • May require standing for significant portion of the shift.
  • May require the ability to obtain a US security clearance
Work Environment

The work environment is a professional office environment and a manufacturing environment. The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions in the plant. The noise level in the work environment may be loud.
