Logistics Operations Specialist

Job DescriptionThis is a college-level internship in the Internal Logistics Department at our Farmington, CT location. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment, working on projects that directly contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of our logistics processes.
Key Responsibilities- Warehouse Projects Involvement: Participate in warehouse projects aimed at streamlining operations and increasing efficiency.
- Process Improvement: Analyze current warehouse processes to identify areas for improvement and propose strategies to enhance workflow, reduce waste, and optimize resource utilization.
- Optimizing Warehouse Storage: Assist in designing and implementing effective storage solutions to maximize space utilization.
- Analyzing Warehousing Pull Times: Collect and analyze data on item retrieval times and suggest methods to reduce pull times and enhance overall speed of operations.
- Quality Improvement in Transport: Assess the quality of goods transportation within the warehouse and develop strategies to minimize damage and improve handling processes.
- Creating and Monitoring KPIs: Assist in developing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for various logistics functions and monitor and report on these KPIs, providing insights and recommendations based on data analysis.
- Creative, critical, and analytical thinking skills.
- Effective written and verbal communications.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
