Your Role
As a Patient Access Specialist, you will play a crucial role in facilitating patient access throughout our facility. Your responsibilities will include:
- Welcoming and registering patients, ensuring accurate collection of demographic and insurance information.
- Scheduling appointments and coordinating ancillary services to optimize patient flow.
- Initiating co-payment collections in accordance with insurance guidelines.
- Assisting patients with non-encounter based access needs and ensuring effective communication with clinical staff.
- Monitoring waiting areas to maintain a clean and organized environment.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:
- A high school diploma or equivalent; some college or healthcare-related coursework is preferred.
- At least one year of customer service experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Medical Assistant certification within 15 months of employment, with support provided by Billings Clinic.
- Heart Saver CPR certification.
