Patient Access Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Specialist to join our team at Billings Clinic. As a Patient Access Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective flow of patient access needs, as well as initiating the revenue cycle throughout our organization.
Key Responsibilities- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting, registering, and gathering appropriate information for clinical, patient financial services, regulatory, and meaningful use.
- Collect and process patient demographic and insurance information, schedule appointments, and collect copayments and self-pay deposits.
- Post payments into the billing system and ensure accurate and timely billing.
- Validate insurance information using IntelliSource and analyze electronic responses to ensure appropriate set-ups.
- Coordinate with patients, internal and external providers, and nursing staff to ensure Medicaid Passport authorizations are obtained and entered.
- Schedule and coordinate appointments in a manner that meets the patient's needs and each individual provider's scheduling protocols.
- Provide in-person marketing for Billings Clinic's patient portal and explain its functionality to patients.
- Initiate collection of copayments and deposits in accordance with each patient's individual insurance or self-pay requirements.
- Accept payments on accounts, maintain operating cash and collections, and balance to online records daily.
- Perform other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
- High school or GED preferred
- Some college or healthcare-focused classes preferred, such as medical terminology or medical office practices.
